This policy applies to every quiz question and every article on TrivCentral. It exists so you know what standard to hold us to.

Sourcing Our Questions

We write our questions ourselves. The facts behind them come from reference works, academic and scientific sources, museums and institutions, official records, and established published journalism.

We are deliberately sceptical of widely circulated trivia. A great many popular “facts” turn out to be misattributed, oversimplified, or simply invented and repeated until they felt true. If a claim only traces back to other quiz sites, we don’t use it.

Verification Before Publication

Every question is checked before it goes live, and every article is read by an editor before publishing. Where sources disagree, or where a fact holds only under particular conditions, we say so in the explanation rather than flattening it into something tidier than reality.

Corrections — We’ll Own It

We publish a lot, and we’re going to get something wrong eventually. We’d rather tell you that now than pretend to a perfection nobody has.

Here’s our commitment. We put real effort into being right the first time — that’s what the checking process is for. And when something does slip through, we fix it as quickly as we can, we correct the record rather than burying it, and we note what changed when the error mattered.

Keeping Ads Separate From Content

TrivCentral is funded by advertising. Advertisers do not choose our topics, influence our questions, or review anything before it publishes. We don’t run sponsored material disguised as editorial.

How We Use Technology

We use software tools in research, drafting and editing. Human review before publication is required in every case, and the responsibility for what appears on this site rests with us, not with any tool.
